Freidman says that the cushions worth keeping are social security, do away with a welfare system that discourages people from working, and and wage insurance. Where as wage insurance would help those who lose there job and after they find a new job they will be paid the money.

In this reading Freidman talks about the good and bad fats of our country. One of the biggest ones he mentions is social security, the type for working people, not lazy people. His suggested program for helping laid off people back on their feet is a good idea in my opinion. It helps people without making them not want to work.

Removing a welfare system that has been around for generations is stupid. If people don't want to work, then they need to show that they have attempted to work in the last couple of years, or that they are above a certain age, where working should no longer be a requirement for living comfortably.

Social security is a cushion worth keeping as well as wage insurance so that it would encourage people to get a job and not drain the economy. Welfare is a terrible thing that is abused by people who are too lazy to get a job.
